APLAR was established in 1963 under the original title of 'The South East Asia and Pacific League Against Rheumatism (SEAPAL)'. Its aim is to stimulate and promote awareness and knowledge of rheumatic diseases as well as the means of prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and relief of symptoms.
